Founder guide

Running your round on Oceanpoint Investors

For founders in the free beta

How the beta works

Oceanpoint Investors is where you run your own fundraise: your investor list, a personal deck link for each investor, a record of who reads what, a data room and investor updates. During the beta it is free and invite-only. Here is how a round starts:

  1. You send us your deck. Email it as a PDF to dp@oceanpoint.fi. We look at every deck and get back to you.
  2. We set up your round. If it fits, we turn your deck into a tracked online deck, create your round with its name and pitch, and invite you by email.
  3. You run it. From then on you import investors, send links, watch engagement, manage the data room and post updates yourself. This guide covers each of those.

Signing in

Your invitation email has a button that signs you straight in. After that, sign in any time at oceanpoint.fi/investors/login: enter the email we invited, and we send you a sign-in link. There is no password.

You land on your round. Its tabs are Investors, Deck, Engagement, Data room, Updates and Pitch copy, with your totals (deck views, average time on the deck and commitments) across the top.

Import your investors

Open Investors and choose Import list. Upload a CSV or Excel file; you see a preview before anything is added.

  • Email is the only required column. Rows without a valid email are skipped and listed so you can fix them.
  • Optional columns: name (or first name and last name), firm (or company, fund), title, country and investor type. Common header spellings are recognised automatically.
  • Up to 1,000 rows per import. Import again whenever you have more people; nobody is added twice.
  • Importing sends nothing. Investors only hear about your round when you send them their link.

See who reads your deck

Two places show how your deck is landing:

  • Investors lists every investor with their deck views, average time and when they last read it, most recent reader first. “Not opened” means they have not used their link yet.
  • Engagement shows the deck slide by slide: views, average time and where readers stop, across everyone.

A practical rhythm: follow up first with investors who read most of the deck, then nudge the ones who have not opened it.

Your deck

We prepare your first deck with you. To replace it later, open Deck and choose Upload deck with a PDF. Each page becomes a slide, and the text on the pages is kept so the deck stays searchable.

  • The new deck replaces the old one for everyone straight away. Investors keep their links.
  • Up to 80 slides and 15 MB. A deck designed in 16:9 reads best.
  • Want it rebuilt as a fully tracked web deck again? Send us the new version and we will convert it.

The data room

Open Data room. Pick who should see a file, add an optional description, and choose Choose file. It appears straight away for the people you picked. You can change who sees a document, or remove it, from the same list. The view count shows how often each document has been opened.

LevelWho sees the document
All investorsEveryone you invited.
After NDAInvestors who have signed your NDA. We set the NDA up with you when we prepare the round.
Soft-committedInvestors who have recorded a commitment.
NDA + commitmentInvestors with both a signed NDA and a recorded commitment.
Team accessOnly investors we open it for, for example after a call. Ask us to open a document to someone.
PrivateNobody but you. A good place to stage a document before releasing it.

Start narrow. It is easy to open a document to more people later, and impossible to take back what someone already read.

Updates and pitch copy

Open Updates, write a title and the update, and choose Post update. It appears next to your deck for every investor. Updates are not emailed during the beta, so mention them when you follow up.

Pitch copy holds the tagline, the one-line description and the use of funds that investors see with your deck. Edit and save them any time.

What investors see

An investor who opens their link sees your round in their browser, with nothing to install and no account to create:

  • your deck, slide by slide;
  • the data room documents their level allows;
  • your updates.

Commitments investors record show up in your totals.

The beta

  • Free: no fees and no commission during the beta.
  • Invite-only: every round starts with a deck review.
  • You send, not us: no email goes to your investors from the platform; you share links and news yourself.

Oceanpoint Investors is a tool for running your own fundraise. It is not a broker, an exchange or investment advice, and it does not introduce investors to you. Questions or something not working? Email dp@oceanpoint.fi.
