Governance board

The governance board executes community governance decisions through a 4-of-6 multisig; this page explains the current setup and keeps a short archive of past meetings.

Current setup

The board has six members: founders, advisors and community representatives. Its membership is unchanged since 2023, and it continues to meet. It controls a Safe multisig wallet with six signers, and any transaction needs 4 of the 6 to approve it.

What the board does

  • Executes governance decisions. sBST holders vote on proposals on Snapshot; the board carries out the outcome through the multisig. Votes do not execute on-chain by themselves. See The voting process.
  • Administers the Snapshot space. The multisig is one of the admins of the blocksquare.eth space.
  • Decides on Regional Hub requests. New hubs submitted through the ambassador program go to the board for a decision.

The board's role is transitional. The goal is to move its powers to sBST holders through on-chain governance; there is no date for this yet. See the Decentralization plan.
