What is Oceanpoint?

Oceanpoint is the liquidity engine for tokenized real estate: owners sell a slice of a building as property tokens, and a buyer funded by the buildings' rent stands ready to buy.

Property tokens (BSPTs) trade on the Oceanpoint marketplace today. The liquidity engine, built around POINT, is next. POINT is planned and not yet issued; see POINT and the liquidity engine.

Oceanpoint is a Luxembourg company, registered as Blocksquare S.à r.l. and being renamed Oceanpoint S.à r.l. It is built by the core team of Blocksquare and runs on tokenization infrastructure it licenses from Blocksquare d.o.o., a separate, related company.

The Oceanpoint dApp also hosts the staking and governance pools of the Blocksquare ecosystem, built around BST, Blocksquare's protocol token. BST does not govern Oceanpoint the company.

Buying and holding BSPTs requires an account and KYC verification on a marketplace, and some countries are not supported. Staking BST and taking part in governance does not require KYC.
