Oceanpoint features
- On Ethereum: Oceanpoint's contracts run on Ethereum mainnet. BST, sBST and BSPTs are all ERC-20 tokens, and every pool contract can be checked on Etherscan. See Smart contracts.
- Self-custody, with lock periods: you deposit into the pools from your own wallet and withdraw back to it. Each pool has a lock after you deposit: 48 hours for the governance pool, 6 months for the issuer asset pool, 30 days for the community asset pool, 2 days for the RWA Technology and Landhive pools, and about 6 months for marketplace pools.
- Who needs KYC: staking BST and voting in governance need no KYC. Buying and holding property tokens (BSPTs) needs an account and KYC on a marketplace, and some countries are not supported.
- Variable rewards: pool rewards are paid in BST and are not fixed. Governance sets how BST emissions are directed to the pools, and that allocation changes over time. Live APYs and staked amounts are on /stats.
Token list
The tokens used in the Oceanpoint ecosystem.
ERC-20 standard: the industry standard for tokens on Ethereum. It lets tokens in the ecosystem work with the wider DeFi ecosystem, for example trading on Uniswap.
BST token
BST (Blocksquare Token) is Blocksquare's protocol token: an ERC-20 deployed on Ethereum in 2018 with a fixed supply of 100,000,000 BST. Oceanpoint holds a locked BST treasury stake, but BST does not govern Oceanpoint S.à r.l. and does not share its fees. On Oceanpoint, BST is what the pools pay out as rewards. See BST.
sBST token
When you stake BST in the governance pool you receive sBST, a tokenized share of that pool. sBST accrues the pool's BST rewards and is what you vote with on governance-pool and protocol proposals on Snapshot. Return sBST to withdraw your BST.
POINT token
POINT is Oceanpoint's planned token and has not been issued yet. It will be a free-floating crypto-asset on Ethereum, priced by the market. It is not a stablecoin, carries no right or claim against anyone, and is not linked to any property. See POINT and the liquidity engine.
LP tokens
Liquidity provider (LP) tokens are issued by a decentralized exchange to the people who add liquidity to a trading pair. On Oceanpoint you can stake BST:ETH Uniswap V2 LP tokens in the liquidity pool to earn BST rewards.
BSPT tokens
Blocksquare Property Tokens (BSPTs) are ERC-20 tokens, each representing fractional ownership in one specific property, issued through Blocksquare's tokenization infrastructure. Each property is divided into up to 100,000 tokens, and holding them makes you eligible for rental income distributions from that property. You can buy BSPTs on the Oceanpoint marketplace or on any partner marketplace. See Trade.
DeFi Primitives
The pools that are live in the Oceanpoint dApp.
Governance pool
Deposit BST in the main governance pool and receive sBST, which accrues BST rewards and carries the vote on Snapshot proposals. There is a 48-hour lock after depositing and no deposit or withdrawal fees beyond gas. Live since February 2022. Marketplace pools, where sBST holders back a certified partner's marketplace, sit in the same category.

Asset pools
Owners pool
Property owners who tokenized their building can stake their BSPTs in the issuer pool to earn BST rewards. Their BSPTs stay theirs; they are not sold. The issuer pool has a 6-month lock.

Community pool
Investors who bought BSPTs on a marketplace can hold them and receive rental income, or stake them in a community asset pool. Staking converts the property's rental income stream into BST rewards; the rent that flows through the Community BSPT pool funds BST buybacks and burns. The dApp lists three community pools: Community (30-day lock), RWA Technology and Landhive (2-day lock each).

Liquidity pools
Provide BST and ETH in equal value to the BST:ETH pool on Uniswap V2, then stake the LP tokens on Oceanpoint to earn BST rewards on top of the pool's trading fees. Liquidity provision carries impermanent loss risk.
A Uniswap V4 LP staking contract is built but not deployed on mainnet.
BST:ETH staking is live. Learn more
POINT liquidity engine
The stable pools planned in earlier versions of these docs never launched. They have been replaced by the POINT liquidity engine, whose contracts are built and audited but not live, and by a liquidity-provider programme for larger providers.

- Wallets: connect an Ethereum wallet to deposit, withdraw and claim in every pool.
- Data: the dApp and this website read on-chain data from an Envio HyperIndex indexer. Live protocol figures are on /stats.
