Asset pools

Real estate staking is live: stake property tokens (BSPTs) in the issuer, community, RWA Technology and Landhive pools to earn BST.

Rewards

Asset pools earn a share of BST emissions. The allocation is set through governance and changes over time; see the live figures at /stats.

Pool mechanics

Oceanpoint lets you earn BST with tokenized real estate by staking BSPT tokens. Staking is available only for properties tokenized through Blocksquare's tokenization protocol.

Holders of eligible BSPTs (Blocksquare Property Tokens) can stake them in the Oceanpoint dApp at app.oceanpoint.fi. When you stake, the pool records your share based on the value of the tokens you deposit, and locks your BSPTs for the pool's lock period. While they are staked, the property's rental income on those tokens is redirected to the DAO treasury, and you earn BST rewards in proportion to your pool share instead.

Current lockup periods for respective pools:

  • Issuer pool: 6 months
  • Community pool: 30 days
  • RWA Technology pool: 2 days
  • Landhive pool: 2 days

BSPT fees and impacts on staking

BSPT tokens have an integrated transaction fee of 1.5%.

Fees are always paid in property tokens. For example, if a transaction involves 10,000 BSPT, the buyer receives 10,000 - 1.5% = 9,850 BSPT in their wallet.

On the Oceanpoint marketplace, the fee is distributed automatically:

  • 1.0% goes to Oceanpoint, as operator and issuer
  • 0.5% goes to the Blocksquare infrastructure Oceanpoint licenses

None of the fee is paid to BST or sBST holders.

Staking and unstaking are transfers, so the fee applies and reduces the amount of BSPT you get back when you withdraw. Issuers staking their own property's tokens are exempt.

Both property owners (token issuers) and community members can stake. Community members can buy BSPTs on the Oceanpoint marketplace and stake them to earn BST.
